The Atlantic Poetry Guild exists to help revive the significance of traditional poetry in our culture. We conduct public readings of the great poets, to restore their work to the cultural centrality it deserves. We host a series of professional development seminars for teachers of English and Language Arts, to offer guidance on how to present these masterpieces in the classroom. And we maintain our weblog, The Quarterdeck, where we present our thoughts and reflections on poetry, teaching, and the great works.

“Much have I travell’d in the realms of gold,
And many goodly states and kingdoms seen;
Round many western islands have I been
Which bards in fealty to Apollo hold.”
From “On first looking in Chapman’s Homer” by John Keats
